The History of Chancellor House

Built in the late 1800s, the Chancellor House has been a cornerstone of the Martinsville community for generations. It is the oldest existing house in Martinsville, located on the National Road, York Trail, and near the Vandalia Rail Line. Originally home to one of the town’s prominent families, the house has witnessed the growth and transformation of the area over the decades. The Clark County Historical Society recently purchased the house, which had fallen into great disrepair. Plans are to restore the home and present to the community a museum and historical research room. Your help is greatly appreciated.
