2026 Citywide Spring Cleanup: April 11-18

The City of Martinsville will hold its Citywide Spring Cleanup for its utility customers Saturday, April 11 through Saturday, April 18.
Dumpsters will be located at the top of Hilltop Drive, off the east side of South York Street. (Same drive as the Martinsville Public Works Building.)

Drop Off Hours

The dumpsters will be accessible 24 hours daily. Assistance with drop offs will be available from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the week and as available on Saturday and Sunday.

Items that WILL NOT be accepted:

  • Electronics
  • Tires
  • Construction Materials
  • Batteries
  • Paint (unless dried up using oil-dry or kitty litter, etc.).

They will take refrigerators, but the compressor must be removed.

For assistance with bulky items that you have no way of getting to the roll-off, call City Hall at 217-382-4323 and the City will try to make arrangements to pick it up.

Brush and Limb Pickup

Brush and limbs will also be picked up during this week. Please be sure to put brush and limbs at the EDGE of the road and not in the roadway.

After the week of Spring Cleanup is over, the City will be issuing citations for ordinance code violations to owners of properties that have not cleaned up.
