City of Martinsville to hold Fall Cleanup Sept. 25-30

The City of Martinsville will hold Fall Cleanup for its utility customers from Monday to Saturday, September 25-30.

The hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday though Friday. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to noon. Dumpsters will be located at the top of Hill Top Drive – off South York Street.

Items you can not put in the dumpsters include construction materials, tires, batteries, or paint (unless dried up). They will take refrigerators, but the compressor must be removed.

The City of Martinsville is offering this opportunity at no cost to you to help clean up Martinsville. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by for an easy way of cleaning up your property of unsightly messes.
If you have an item you have no way of getting to the roll off, call City Hall at 217-382-4323 to make arrangements to have it picked up.

The City of Martinsville will also be picking up brush and limbs the same week. They must be piled at the edge of the street, not in the street.

Let’s work together and clean up our properties of overgrown brush and piles of junk to make Martinsville a more attractive community to live in.
After cleanup is over, the City will be issuing ordinance code violations to owners of properties that have not been cleaned up.
