Our library is part of Illinois Heartland Library System, which means that if you can’t find what you are looking for here, you can borrow it through inter-library loan at from one of the over 500 libraries in the consortium.
The library has sections for young children, teenagers, fiction and non-fiction, and a reference section, as well as a great selection of DVDs available for check out. There is also a section of new DVD releases available for rent for $1. The library also offers books on CD and large print books for visually impaired individuals. You can read the newspaper there every day, as the library subscribes to the Marshall Advocate.
The library is all a member of the 3m Cloud Library and My Media Mall consortium, making eBooks available for checkout to all patrons in the district.
The library has five public access computers connected to the internet. There is a meeting room downstairs, available for rent for private parties for $25.00, and for public meetings for free. The meeting room is available any day, from 9am to 9pm.
Registration is free for anybody living within the Martinsville school district. To register, you will need to bring a picture ID with your address (such as Driver’s license or state ID card). Your Martinsville Library card is valid at over 500 libraries in the consortium.
